How did you feel when you were in New York?

Before I visited New York, I thought New York is just like a place that I saw on TV and movie. It's a crowded place full of interests, excitements and chances. While being there, I found the other side of New York. It's a place that gathered people from every where, because wherever I saw, I usually can't see real American. It has a convenient transportation but crowded and dirty. When being there, I went to many place by subway. The subway system is easy to learn but the different exits and entrances sometimes made me confused. It's a big city for every kind of enterprises and full of many chances, because I felt the people who lives there are busy and rush for their businesses. After visiting New York, I felt New York is a good place for tourist to have fun and take adventure.

What did you do last night?

I went home around 7pm last night. After washing my hands, I started to preparing my dinner. While I ate dinner, my housemates went down and talked with me about the accommodation in next session. Before going out to check the apartment, they already made an appointment with landlord few days ago. After having dinner, I prepared the food for tomorrow lunch. While preparing food, I ate some fruits. Before starting homework, I already done the dishes. While doing homework, my home stay mother went home. Before taking shower, she asked me if she can take shower now. Whoever wanting to take shower after 10pm, they have to notice me first, because the bathroom is next to my room, the shower noise may annoying me. Before going to bed, I already finished the homework.

What could the angry mob/physicians done differently?

The physicians shouldn't have robbed the body from the grave without permissions. When the people found that their family's body was stolen from the grave, they shouldn't have made a riot right away before they found out what happened with their loved family. The crowded people could have done the different way to let the physicians know they have done the wrong things. Then, the governor will not have killed the people who was lost their temper to defend for their family's body.

All 11th graders must study abroad for one year

To study language and foster global view should be implement in the senior high school education. When we were children, we learned the though from the family and then in school as well. The most important part of the education is to development moral integrity not just what we learned from the text book. Study abroad can help students experience the different culture, study and use 2nd language, find out who they are and what they want. Although study abroad will cost a lot of money and resources from each families and government, the more advantage will appear on these students in the future.

To let 11th graders study abroad may cost a lot of money and resources. The poor people may not have enough money to afford their child to study abroad. Also, it may grater gap between poor and rich. Even though most people won't agree this idea, study local language in abroad is more efficient. Students usually spend a lot of time to study 2nd language, but the best way to learn is to use it. Living abroad can provide students a very good environment to practice what they learned.

Also, most parents may not agree with this idea because they wouldn't want their children take much adventure when they still under 20 years old. However, the future advantage for their children is obviously. World become a village, study abroad can help students directly experience the real culture in other country, adjust their opinion of value and eliminate prejudice.

Further more, study abroad also good at self-discovery. Students live with others, meet different kind of people, face and solve problems by themselves. When they came home to continue their education in senior high school, they are supposed to have idea for their future. That also can help them to decide their major for the university. We might not see many students waste too much time to find out what they want. The advantages for 11th grader to study abroad is obviously. To realize this idea need more supports from parents and government. It may cost a lot now, but will repay in the future, maybe near future.

2007 Cecil county fair

July 20 (Fri.) we went to Maryland Cecil County Fair. We arrived around 4 pm. It's a hot day, we took look around the exhibit and soon the whether drove us crazy, then we found bleachers to sit and wait the programs start. After long time wait, the first program-magic show started around 6pm. At that time the bleachers were gathered more people. The magic show only performed 30 or 40 minutes and finished before the thunder stone came. The next game was called Derby. When I saw more and more people came no matter the torrential rainfall was going to start, I became more excited to wait the Derby. I just wonder why Derby could attract myriad people to come. A downpour with thunder never real stopped, and muddy ground seems make derby more fun. Even the game started late because of the rain, everyone just stayed, chatted and waited. Finally, after the host announces the game started, I saw the old cars were putted on some funny decoration and drove into the stage slowly. Derby means all cars in stage bump each other and who is the last one alive will win the game. I can't finish the whole game, because our bus was going to leave on 9:00pm. That night, I have a wonderful experience.

The meaning of Taiwan's flag

Last week in the listening class, we drew our country's flag for discussion topic. Last time I draw flag was in elementary school. I can't even remember the means of the colors and the pattern. What shamed on me......

The colors and patterns on the flag are meaningful, the twelve radiances on the left-top corner means twelve ancient times a day, twelve months a year to encourage people to strive continuously to make new progress. The colors blue, white, red means everyone under the sun(white) are equal, liberity(blue), indiscriminate love (red). This is our flag~
